How can I get rid of cigarette smoke in my car?

I just bought a used 2008 car but it smells like cigarettes; the dealership said they “bombed” it but they definitely didn’t do a thing. I bought one of those Yankee Candle car jars (”Clean Cotton” which is their strongest smelling scent) and I left the windows down overnight, is there anything more that I can do?
The Febreze ideas sound like they would work but I have a boxer and she goes to day camp once a week, I’ve read that febreze can be really harmful to dogs. I can’t win!!

The smell will eventually go away after a while. Spray the fabrics with fabreeze, a lot of it. And shut it up with windows closed. Let it sit. After an hour or so let it set with the widows all open. You may have to do this a few times and letting it air out every day will help a lot. I used to have to get rid of the sour milk smell from accidentally leaving my daughters bottles in the car when she was a baby. But it should work for smoke too. The build up of heat in the car when parked makes smells more noticeable. It wouldn’t hurt to get a washcloth damp with soapy water and scrub out the seats, floorboards, etc… I use to detail used cars for Kobach used cars in Topeka and they used a special scented shampoo, but plain old dish soap works just fine. If you like the scented dish soap, go ahead. Citrus dish soap works very well.
